WHAT IS LOCATING

When a Track A Phone customer registers a mobile on the service, they are unable to request the location of the mobile until the user of the mobile has given their consent. Once Track A Phone receives the information about the mobile, it sends a text message to the mobile requesting authorisation to find it's location. The mobile user can send a response text message to Track A Phone giving their consent to be located.

The mobile user then receives a text message with a PIN number. The Track A Phone customer can then request the mobile's location. The location can be viewed on a map, and is in the form of a circular area, usually around 500m to 2000m in radius. The mobile user can control their consent to be located by the Track A Phone customer by logging on the the website with their mobile number and PIN number.

  SECURITY

On sign up, we ask for a security phrase which will be used to identify you should you need to contact Trackaphone. Once your account has been activated, administrator login account details are posted to your registered address. This information is used to access the software and should be kept securely. This account is used to administer mobiles and users for your account. The administrator should setup Power User and Ordinary User accounts which are to be used for daily use of the software. Power Users can ping mobiles and setup schedules. Ordinary Users can only view historic pings.

When a mobile is added to the system, an SMS is sent to the mobile requesting authorisation to locate the mobile. The mobile user must reply to the SMS giving their consent before the mobile is active and can be located. The People Locator uses a secure connection to the Track A Phone servers
